Library

The MWP Arts Institute Library has more than 25,000 books and extensive reference materials including: 30,000 slides, 800 videotapes, 65 current periodicals, 2,300 music CDs, and vertical file materials. The library will continue to increase its holdings in response to the curricular needs of the expanded PrattMWP program.

The library's holdings excel in art history, art theory and aesthetics, scholarly monographs on artists, exhibition catalogues and reference materials. It is a broad-based collection particularly strong in 19th and 20th century American and European art.

The library participates in a catalogue exchange program with approximately 190 museums and galleries throughout the U.S. and overseas. This provides the library with hundreds of specialized exhibition catalogues and vertical file materials. The library provides access to online research databases and catalogues of other libraries.

Students may also use the following libraries for research: Utica Public Library and the Mid-York Library System, Utica College, Mohawk Valley Community College, Hamilton College, and SUNY Institute of Technology.

The library is located on the second floor of the Academic Center at 510 Henry St.
