Shannon Stockbridge

Graduated: Class of 2011

In a few sentences share a fond memory of your experience while at Munson
One of my fondest memories of being at MWP was being able to work in the great studio facilities after classes alongside all of the students, and knowing them personally. Even if you werent working directly with them, watching them in the close vicinity allowed me to see how other artists problem solve, and work. I think the opportunity to work alongside other artist is equally as beneficial to the art-making process as the physical act of working on your own work.
How important was your experience at Munson to you?
Munson allowed me to really understand the kind of art I wanted to create, and the purpose of that art in the world. It provided me with the ability to start problem-solving my own conceptual ideas and bringing them to fruition.

PrattMWP is part of a tradition that dates back to 1936, when the first class of artists passed through the doors of Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute.
